Subfloor Preparation
We can carry out subfloor preparation prior to installing our carpets, engineered wood flooring, laminate flooring, LVT, vinyl flooring, natural flooring and Forbo marmoleum. Preparing subfloors involves the following steps:
Removing and Smoothing
We begin the construction of subfloors by removing existing flooring and ensuring that there are no traces of adhesive residues, lumps and bumps to ensure a smooth screed application.
Damp Testing
We can ensure your subfloors are in a good enough state to have new floors installed. Floors that have excess moisture can cause complications and delays to your floor fitting, as well as mould and mildew. Some flooring can deal with higher levels of moisture than others. Following an assessment of the floor moisture levels, we can advise you on having a damp proof membrane fitted, as well as appropriate floor choices.
Screeding
We can choose the correct smoothing compound for your particular project. Our experts will apply a thin cementitious top layer to ensure your subfloor effectively supports your flooring.
